Are you a water service provider? The deadline to submit your service line inventory to your state regulatory agency is just around the corner. Don’t miss this critical requirement under the Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR).
A little background on these new rules to address lead contamination in drinking water:
- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published the LCRR on January 15, 2021, which requires all community and non-transient noncommunity water systems to submit a service line inventory to their state regulatory agency. These revisions apply to 40 CFR Parts 141 and 142.
- The compliance date for these revisions is October 16, 2024.
- This nation-wide initiative is meant to improve the current Lead and Copper Rule and further reduce lead exposure resulting in increased public health protection.
At ARRO, we understand the complexities of compiling an accurate service line inventory. That’s why we offer comprehensive solutions to help you meet this obligation efficiently and effectively.
Our Approach:
- Data Compilation: ARRO can help you populate your service line inventory using a number of data sources. We can help you compile, review, and extract service line material information from records and plans. We have worked with many utilities to provide building data information through parcel data in order to identify properties that may or may not have lead service lines.
- GIS-Based Tools: Our specialized GIS tools enable you to track service line replacements, solicit public input through surveys, and overlay replacement data with your water utility layers – all on one centralized platform.
- Database Compatibility: We’ve worked closely with state regulatory agencies to ensure our clients can manage their inventory directly in GIS and submit the database in an acceptable format, streamlining the submission process.
Don’t leave your service line inventory to chance. Partner with ARRO and let our expertise guide you through this critical requirement. We will not only help you achieve compliance but also position you for future service line replacement initiatives.
Please see our one-page flyer summarizing how we are utilizing GIS as a solution for water service providers to maintain compliance with this requirement, engage with the public, and prepare to track service line replacements in the future.
