Nathaniel J. Merkel, L.O., GISP has 10 years of experience in coordination and management of geographic information system projects for mapping of stormwater, water, and wastewater infrastructure, responsible for field data collection and ArcGIS mapping of collection/distribution systems, including features such as inlets, curb stops, and valve. His experience includes extensive work with municipal officials, including boroughs, townships, and authorities, as well as wetland identification and delineation
Nate has also worked closely with PA DEP and community water systems throughout Commonwealth of PA to create and implement source water protection plans. He has developed and updated emergency response plans and operation and maintenance plans, performed security vulnerability assessments, and completed and submitted WREN source water protection grant applications.
Nate received a B.S. in Geo-Environmental Science from Shippensburg University. He is a licensed Class E Water System Operator in Pennsylvania, and is a certified GIS professional.
